Our new ride!!

The Aguilar family got a new "toy" over the weekend. On Saturday, we brought this home:

We'd been looking at cars for a while and finally decided the time was right to buy! We spent all day on Saturday looking at and test driving cars and finally found THE one! It's an '08 Mazda CX-7 Sport. It's "pre-owned" and has 16K miles on it. It's in fantastic condition -- leather interior and minimal scratches/cosmetic wear. It's now the mommy-mobile and since Sean traded in his Jeep when we got this one, he'll now be forced to drive the Jetta (poor Sean!).

Here are some more pics of our newest addition:

Rosemary Beach, Florida

Sean, Bella and I drove to Rosemary Beach, FL on Monday, December 29th for a relaxing mini-vacation by the sea. It was about an 11-hour drive from Houston to Florida, so we were quite nervous as to how Bella would handle it. Thankfully, she is a good traveler like her mommy and daddy -- she fussed for maybe 15 minutes TOTAL out of the whole drive (counting to and from). She was such a dream! Every 3 hours I'd hop in the backseat with her and feed her. We'd change her when we stop for gas and she'd play or sleep in the between time. Of course, she paid us back on our first day in Florida -- she was a fussy girl most of the day on Tuesday, but other than that, she was a fantastic traveler.

The weather was perfect while we were there -- cool and windy but clear! We strolled amongs the shops, played on the sand and did some shopping. At the end of each day, we returned to our little beach house we rented (so cute!) and rested up for the following day. We were supposed to spend 5 days in FL, but we ended up cutting our trip short by a day and returned home on Thursday instead of Friday. Bella has been sick (she's got a cold with a nasty cough) so we figured it would be best to be in Houston on Friday so we could get her checked out by the doc (she's fine).

Although it was a fast trip, we had a great time. It was Bella's first time to see/hear the ocean and feel sand! We had a fun time showing her around and making memories. Here are a few pics from the trip:

Bella's First Christmas

Bella experienced her very first Christmas this year. Santa was VERY good to her. She cleaned up in the gift department -- far too many toys and clothes, but thankfully her grandpa built her a toybox so at least we have a place to store them for now!

Christmas was great this year. My mom and sis came over to our house and we had lots of yummy food, great gifts, wine, conversation and lots of fun! It was an exhausting day but we had a great time.

On the Saturday after Christmas, we had Christmas with my dad and his wife, Mary. Everyone came over to our house and we exchanged gifts and oooh'd and aaah'd over little Bella! Again, Bella got far too many gifts for a 5 month old, but oh well. What can I say...she is a spoiled angel!!

Here are a few pics from Christmas:
