On Saturday night, my mom and I attended a fundraiser at Bella's school. The fundraiser is an annual event that is the major fundraiser for the school. This was my first year to attend, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had previewed the silent auction items in advance and was fairly certain I wasn't going to bid on anything. Boy, was I wrong! With my mom as my date (i.e. Sean wasn't there to tell me NO!), I was free to bid as I pleased! I bid on a few things (a baby boy gift basket I was going to give to my friend, Kara, if I won; a gift card basket; greeting card basket; and, of course, the big BBQ set). I was the high bidder on the BBQ set for the longest time...then with about 5 minutes left, a guy came by and outbid me. So...I patiently waited until just before they pulled the sheet down, and slapped down the winning bid! I didn't get confirmation that I'd actually won the prize until this morning, though. There was a lady that was none too happy that I was able to put my bid down at the last minute. She got a bit ugly at the teacher when they took the bid sheet down. Never mind that said lady was completely blocking the bid sheet for the last 5 minutes of the auction (which is against the bidding rules!) Anywho...got the notification this morning that the BBQ set is mine. Let me tell you...I got a HUGE bargain. My winning bid was just under $300 and this is what I got for my money:
Go ahead...you can be envious! :-)
