Let the Renovations Begin...

Interior renovations at Casa de Aguilar start TODAY!! I will admit that I'm pretty nervous about this experience. After all...I happen to like a clean house, free of construction dirt/debris...oh, and I also like having two toilets in the house. Well...all of that will change starting, oh, NOW!

We have hired a construction company to completely renovate our master bathroom and re-do the tile and toilet in the guest bathroom. We are also having sheetrock replaced, crown molding installed, and wainscoting installed in the dining room (or, as I like to call it, "boxes" and a chair rail!). Finally, we are having all of the interior doors replaced with new 6-paneled doors. YAY! Oh...and we're getting a new backdoor with a doggie door, to boot! And a light in the pantry that will turn off/on automatically when the door is opened. HOORAY!

The process is expected to take about 6-8 weeks total, so we'll be living la vida loca until the end of July. Demolition is starting today, so I expect to come home to quite a mess! This will for sure be a test of patience for me. I think it would have been hard a year ago, but fast forward to now, with a 10-month old, and I think it will definitely be trying. But...I'm pretty sure it will all be worth it in the end...right??
Here are the BEFORE pics of the two major projects (the bathrooms):

The "master" shower (yes, it looks gross but I assure you it's clean. Dark spots are old grout stains.I promise!!)

The toilet area (there will be a tile wainscot in this area when we are finished):

And now for our tile selections:
